Bird Conservation Society Thailand

BirdLife International's Thai partner and the lead national body promoting bird conservation and awareness in Thailand and serving as a focal point for Thai birders. Some content in English but mainly Thai. Very helpful staff, great T-shirts and highly recommended trips. The forum is worth looking at despite being 99% Thai; the "reports" section of the forum often carries great photographs of recent sightings. 30.01.12 This site has been revamped and I don't like it one bit. I can't find the recent observation reports which used to be linked to the home page.

14.12.11: I am sorry to say this site has been taken over by hackers. I am sure Paan will have moved to an alternative site but until I see him, which should be soon, there is no point linking to it present. 24.01.12 And the new site is a Facebook page : Friends of Norng Blah Lai.

Bangkok City Birding

Dave Gandy's outstanding blog about Birdwatching in Bangkok and Suan Rot Fai (The Railway Park) in the north of Bangkok next to Chatuchak Market; this blog contains a truly remarkable record of the many rare migratory birds which show up in the park. Formerly known as Electric Birding.

Ike Suriwong's site with reports and information about birding in and around the Phuket area with lots of details of locations in the deep south of Thailand and its west coast.

http://www.norththailandbirding.com  an excellent site run by Dave Sargeant, a Chiang Mai resident. Comprehensive 'localities' information and the site also provides information on everything else you might see while out birding including butterflies and mammals. It also carries good up-to-date information about latest sightings.

This is a truly outstanding site, in effect a "board" style forum. Packed with great content.

Please note: I am reluctant to add links of a purely commercial interest. There are some notable exceptions here: sites which in my opinion put useful information into the public domain as well as promoting a commercial service.
